Service Provider Agreement

This Service Provider Agreement ("Agreement") governs your participation as an independent plumbing professional on the PlumberFinder marketplace.

1. Independent contractor status

You participate on PlumberFinder as an independent contractor. You are not an employee, agent, partner, joint venturer, or legal representative of PlumberFinder. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, partnership, or agency relationship.

You control how, when, and whether you accept jobs, set your quotes within platform rules, and perform services using your own tools, methods, and business judgment, subject to customer safety and applicable law.

2. Licensing, insurance, and compliance

  • You are solely responsible for maintaining all licenses, certifications, and registrations required to perform plumbing services in each jurisdiction where you work.
  • You must maintain insurance coverage appropriate for your trade and risk profile (including, where applicable, general liability and workers' compensation). PlumberFinder does not provide insurance for your services.
  • You are responsible for obtaining permits, inspections, and regulatory compliance for work you perform.
  • You must promptly update your profile and onboarding information if your credentials or eligibility change.

3. Workmanship and customer service

You are solely responsible for the plumbing services you perform, including quality, workmanship, timeliness, pricing in your quotes, and customer communication. PlumberFinder does not guarantee jobs, lead volume, or earnings and does not warrant the outcome of your work.

Customer satisfaction, callbacks, warranty obligations, and remediation of defective work are your responsibility unless otherwise required by law.

4. Payments and platform fees

Customer payments are processed through Stripe. PlumberFinder collects the customer payment, deducts the platform fee disclosed in the app and payout statements, and remits your share via Stripe Connect payouts according to platform workflow.

  • Platform fee: A marketplace fee applies to completed jobs as shown in quote acceptance, earnings, and payout detail screens. Fee percentages may be configured by PlumberFinder and are binding when disclosed at transaction time.
  • Stripe Connect: You must complete Connect onboarding and keep payout details current. Payout timing depends on Stripe, job completion status, and dispute holds.
  • Refund adjustments: If a customer receives a refund or fee reversal under platform policy, your payout may be reduced, reversed, or offset against future earnings.
  • Chargebacks: You cooperate with chargeback investigations. Amounts lost to chargebacks or payment disputes may be debited from pending or future payouts.
  • Payout holds: PlumberFinder may delay or hold payouts when a job is disputed, under investigation, or subject to fraud review.

5. Marketplace rules

  • No off-platform solicitation: Do not divert customers met through PlumberFinder to off-platform payments or bookings to avoid platform fees.
  • Honest reviews: Do not solicit, offer incentives for, or post fake reviews.
  • No fraud: Do not misrepresent credentials, submit false quotes, or manipulate job status.
  • Customer information: Use customer contact and location data only to perform booked work and as permitted by the Privacy Policy. Do not sell, spam, or misuse customer data.

6. Account enforcement

PlumberFinder may suspend, restrict, or terminate your provider account if you violate this Agreement, customer Terms of Service, applicable law, or platform safety standards. We may investigate fraud, quality complaints, or policy violations and withhold payouts during review.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PlumberFinder's liability to you for platform services is limited to platform fees you paid to PlumberFinder in the twelve (12) months before the claim, or CAD $100, whichever is greater, except where liability cannot be limited by law.

You are responsible for damages, injuries, or losses caused by your services, negligence, or failure to comply with licensing and insurance requirements.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PlumberFinder and its officers, directors, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your services, your breach of this Agreement, your violation of law, or your infringement of third-party rights.

9. Governing law and contact

This Agreement is governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. Disputes between you and PlumberFinder relating to this Agreement are subject to the courts of Ontario, Canada, except where mandatory law provides otherwise.

PlumberFinder may update this Agreement by posting a new version. Material changes may require re-acceptance before you continue accepting new jobs on the platform.
